Congratulations to our First Holy Communicants

18th May 2023

We extend congratulations to the 16 2nd Class pupils who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 13th May. It was a very special day for our school and parish community and we want to compliment the children for their prayerful and respectful preparation.

Go raibh míle míle maith agat to 2nd Class teacher, Ms Dunne, for the work she put in to making this day a reality for these children.  Their singing was so special and the families present will always remember the beautiful tin whistle performance. We acknowledge the part played by all our school staff in the lives of our pupils.  We thank Fr Egan for his words of inspiration and kindness to the pupils.

A special mention goes to the children from 3rd to 6th Class who formed the choir on the day - they were absolutely amazing and their contribution to the occasion was remarked on by many who were in attendance. Thank you to Mrs Flynn and Emma Donnelly for working with the choir on the day.

Thank you to the families of the pupils for encouraging and helping these wonderful children as they make their journey through life. May they always follow God's path and may He keep them safe in His loving arms.  This is a  very important event in your child's life and I know you will have marked it in a very special way.

Thank you to the Parents Association for providing the much needed refreshments in Knockavilla Community Hall after the ceremony.

Finally, the biggest thank you of all to Clara, Abbie, Oisín, Darragh, Conor C, Thomas, Tymoteusz, Éala, Laura, Sarah, Emma, Saibh, Olivia, Áine, Eoghan and Conor T for being truly amazing and fantastic children who we are so very proud of here at Scoil Mhuire.  Comhghairdeas mór libh go léir.
