Football League 2022-2023 final

2nd Dec 2022

Following several weeks of exciting games of wins, losses and draws, the football league came to its peak today with an absolutely fantastic encounter between Dublin and Cork. The whole school turned out to watch this eagerly anticipated match, and it certainly did not disappoint. Dublin emerged victorious on the day and it was really something to see the two teams congratulating and commiserating each other in turn at the final whistle. Huge credit is due to the five teams that took part in the league this year.  The standard of each game was very high, and more importantly the improvement made by each player throughout the league means all the pupils are winners at the end of this years league. Many of our players look like they may have a promising future in both ladies and mens football.

Player of the Tournament trophies were presented to Lily Keating and Shane Browne for their unending efforts for their respective teams and their general sportsmanship throughout the league.

Medals were also presented to the winning team in the schools' Cross Country in September, namely Dominic Flynn, Ryan Kelly, Cathal Burke and Aaron Heney.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh to Mr Moran, Ms Fitzgerald and Joanne for organising the teams and giving up their lunch breaks to referee the matches.  The impact of their work with these teams will leave a lasting memory with the pupils and that is what school days are all about.
