Science Blast 2026

24th May 2026

On Tuesday, the 19th of May 3rd class went to Science Blast in Limerick. This is an event for children where they can engage with science in a fun way. This year, our project was about outsmarting gravity. We tested our reactions with a ruler drop test and then completed activities in either exercise or technology or listened to music to see if our reactions would improve. We worked very hard on our project and we're very proud of our results.

There were lots of fun things to do at the Science Blast event. We saw experiments with gases like liquid nitrogen. We saw an event with Mark the science guy, all about the science of the World Cup. J.J. even got to go up on stage as a volunteer. He came second in the event and his class were very proud of him. The judges' comments were excellent. The children were very engaged with the experiment and finally our prize was presented to the class.
