Ms. Redfern's Junior and Senior Infants took part in the Incredible Edibles programme with Agri Aware this year. We received our seeds in early February and set to work carefully planting and caring for them. When our seedlings were ready, and the risk of frost had passed, we moved them to our school polytunnel and the raised bed.
We enjoyed getting out in the fresh air watering our plants regularly. This year we grew potatoes, onions, scallions, turnips, radishes, lettuce, tomatoes, peas and of course strawberries!
On Wednesday 24th of June, we harvested our produce and enjoyed the fruits of our labour. We carefully washed our produce and enjoyed a tasty picnic of homemade chips and salad. We had a chocolate dipped strawberry each as a special treat to celebrate our hard work.
