Fourth Class Class Celebrate Hallowe’en

24th Oct 2020

We had a busy fortnight in the lead up to Hallowe’en beginning with the creation of our scarecrow ‘School Bob’ as part of the Community Council's Scarecrow competition. The children voted to choose the scarecrow we would create and we are delighted with our new class mate, the Scoil Mhuire version of Sponge Bob!

We also had an in-class maths challenge. The pupils worked in pairs to work out the answers to several maths puzzles to solve ‘The Mystery of the Missing Pumpkins’. Jaime and Lily were the first team to figure out the perpetrator of the crime. Both girls were awarded Dojo points for their success.

The children had the chance to make lots of lovely Hallowe’en decorations which they took home on Friday. Several students reached 25 Dojo points this week and got to choose a decoration from the classroom. Maith sibh 🥳!

On the day of the break for mid-term, all the pupils (& Mrs Tierney) dressed up to mark Oíche Shamhna. The standard was extremely high this year, but eventually Cathal and Aaron were chosen as joint winners & received Dojo points for their reward. We had a great day of fun & laughter, with a costume parade, a visit from the purple-haired witch & lots of chocolate treats of course. Happy Hallowe’en to all in 4th class - stay safe and well, and look after your families. You have had a great half term & deserve your break 🎃
