Our dedicated area, celebrating our school community’s sporting achievements and active participation, continues to develop (see photo attached).
The planning and preparation for Active School Week (ASW) has been continuing in Scoil Mhuire.
The Active School Flag (ASF) committee gathered ideas from their classmates and have selected the most appropriate activities to facilitate the inclusion of all pupils.
ASW will take place next week from Monday, May 12th, to Friday May 16th, inclusive.
All pupils will wear their school tracksuit for the duration of Active School Week.
Each morning, pupils and staff will assemble in the school yard to ‘Wake Up & Shake Up’. This will involve the students and staff moving and dancing to music.
During lunchtime, a playlist, created by the students, will be played on all yards.
Each afternoon, there will be various activities organised for both staff and students such as ‘Move it Monday’, ‘Team Tuesday’, ‘Walkway Wednesday’, Triathlon Thursday’ and ‘Fun Fit Friday’.
Teachers will be assigning active homework for the week instead of the usual homework.
