Feabhra in Seomra 2

12th Mar 2020

Welcome spring! February has breezed along and much fun was had between the showers of rain, hail and snow! We celebrated Lá 'le Bríde with song, art and story. The signs of spring were observed and recorded and common Irish flowers were identified. Directions and prepositions have been studied and we had great fun following directions on foot, and in our copies.

Bhí an spórt againn ag foghlaim faoin teilifís, an cianrialtán agus na clár teilifíse éagsúla. First Class enjoyed a mini-drama called ‘Who took the Zapper!’. Shared Reading is being embraced by all and the stations on Fridays are a great treat at the week’s end.

We travelled to the Rain Forest and created beautiful birds. We measured various lengths around the class and school. St Valentine’s Day 'lovebugs' were made and sent home.

Nearer to familiar territory, we learned about farms, farm animals -  mothers and babies -  and even constructed a farm using a variety of materials.

Pancake Tuesday was celebrated with yummy pancakes and we spotted a flurry of snow outside on the day also!

We are making Lentan 'Superhero Promises’ in order to remind us to be kind to each other in the classroom.

We celebrated our similarities, differences and our unique emotions and feelings through two great books ‘I'm like You, You’re like me’ and ‘My Many Coloured Days’.  We made a lovey display with our ‘Gratitude Tree’ . We also sang songs reminding us of Jesus’s messages to ‘Love one Another’. Mrs Flynn brought in her guitar for a special service in the class.
