BOM Health and Safety Protocols (A Summary)

The following protocols have been put in place to safeguard the Health and Safety of everyone in the school and wider community. It is expected that all parents/guardians will abide by them in the interest of public Health and Safety.

Under no circumstances is a parent/guardian to bring a child to school

  • If the child is exhibiting any symptoms of Covid 19-
  • If the child has a temperature, is sneezing, coughing, has been vomiting, has diarrhoea, has a headache.
  • If a child has been outside of the country s/he is not to attend school for 14 days and must isolate
  • If the child has been in contact with any family member and or other person who has Covid.

Arrival and Departure Procedures for Children and Parents/Guardians:

  • Parents/guardians must arrive on time when bringing and collecting their child.
  • Only parents/guardians who are well and have no symptoms of COVID-19 or who have served the required quarantine time of 14 days, where advised, are allowed to drop off and collect children.
  • Staggered arrival times have been put in place for entry to and exit from school.
  • Parents/guardians are strongly advised not to linger after the child has entered the school. They are asked in the interest of public Health and Safety to leave immediately.
  • When waiting to collect a child in the evening, parents are expected to wait outside the school in their cars and maintain physical distancing.
  • Once your child’s class is let out of school by the Class Teacher the parent/guardian should go to the appropriate gate to collect the child or indicate to her/his child her/his presence so that the child can leave the school premises as safely as possible.
  • Once parents/guardians have dropped their child to school (at the appropriate time) and collected their child in the evenings, they are expected to leave as soon as possible to facilitate easy access for other parents/guardians).
  • At arrival and departure times physical distancing is to be maintained by children and parents. Parents/guardians should not gather in groups while waiting for their child to enter or exit the school grounds. We have arranged staggered arrival and collection times to avoid groups congregating outside the school.
