KNS Rounders League 2026

30th Jun 2026

Over the past few weeks, the students from Room 2 and Room 3 have been battling it out in the KNS Rounders League. The KNS “World Cup” Rounders League saw Portugal, Spain, England and France competing to take home the trophy and nobody was prepared for the drama that unfolded. After a highly competitive group stage, the semi-final pairings were set. First-placed France faced fourth-placed Portugal, while second-placed Spain took on third-placed England.

The first semi-final was a thrilling contest between France and Portugal. The game finished level at 13–13, meaning extra time was needed to separate the teams. Portugal edged the extra-time period 4–3 to secure their place in the final. If you thought that was close, the second semi-final between Spain and England proved to be even tighter. The game ended 19–19, and even after extra time the teams could not be separated, finishing level again at 4–4. The fairest solution was deemed to be a replay, where Spain emerged victorious and booked their place in the final against Portugal. With two incredible semi-finals packed with excitement, skill, and drama, the stage was set for a fantastic KNS Rounders League final.

On Wednesday, Portugal and Spain took to the field and what a final it proved to be. Spain kicked first and scored an incredible 17 points. Portugal showed great determination and skill throughout the game, but despite a spirited effort they fell just one point short and Spain held on to secure a thrilling 17–16 victory and were crowned KNS Rounders League champions.

Well done to all the boys and girls who took part in this year's competition. The standard of rounders was outstanding with every team displaying excellent skill, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. The league provided plenty of memorable moments and was a fantastic showcase of the talent and enthusiasm in Rooms 2 and 3.
