Pupils & staff donned the blue & gold for a very special occasion for KNS today.
We had the honour of welcoming Rhys Shelly, Tipperary Senior goalkeeper, Adam Daly, Tipperary U20 player and our own past pupil Senan Mackey, Tipperary Minor player to Scoil Mhuire. They brought along the Liam McCarthy and James Nolan cups. Pupils & staff gathered in the Halla & welcomed our guests to the tune of The Sunday Game. Mrs Tierney introduced the players and Mr Moran spoke about their careers to date. Rhys & Adam both had some words of advice for our young players.
Rhys and Adam presented medals to the runner up & winning teams from our School Football League. Dublin were the beaten finalists with Donegal taking the title this year. Sarah Jayne Hayes and Conor Breen were awarded Players of the Tournament trophies.
Following the presentation, the hall erupted with a rousing rendition of both When I Grow Up I’m Gonna Play County and Sliabh na mBan. Each class was photographed with the guests of honour & the two cups.
A great morning for KNS marking a great year for Tipperary hurling.
