The President of Ireland has thanked children, parents and teachers for continuing to learn at home while schools are closed.
In a letter, president Michael D.Higgins described RTÉ Home School Hub as "an inspiring and imaginative initiative" and said that while it's a difficult time for many young people, they, parents and teachers have risen to the challenge by continuing to learn at home.
"Although we may be physically parted from each other, we are united in our wish to continue to learn and work to the best of our ability," he wrote.
"The Home School Hub will be of enormous assistance to you all, uniting the nation's children as they continue their educational journey during these difficult days."
The President gave his thanks to everyone who made the initiative possible adding that he commends "all the children who have come together to engage with this most valuable and generous resource."
