School Hurling League 2023

25th Jun 2023

We were treated to some stunning performances in the KNS Hurling League this year where pupils from 3rd to 6th are mixed into teams to compete for the title of League Champions.  This year saw Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, Clare and Limerick battle it out in some really thrilling encounters over the course of the final few weeks of the year.  The matches took place during lunch break and all pupils and staff were gripped by hurling fever.  Referee Mr Moran kept play running smoothly and several older pupils who took on the role of umpire. The skill and talent on display this year was phenomenal and the excitement, enthusiasm and general fair play from all the pupils made this year's league one of the best.

The final event at our school Sports Day saw Waterford and Clare battle it out in the Hurling League 2023 Final. It was a truly sporting match and much credit goes to both teams.  Waterford finished their league campaign in style having won all their matches throughout.  Both sets of players were presented with medals by Mrs Tierney.  Congratulations to all pupils from 3rd to 6th class for making this year’s league such a success and all credit to Mr Moran for his time and work on this special event once again this year.  Also, congratulations to Jaime Alley and Cian Buckley who were awarded the 2023 Player of the Year trophies.
