September in Room 2

2nd Oct 2019

What a super September we have had. We welcomed half of Senior Infants and Ms Fitzgerald to the room and have had so much fun and learning in the last four weeks.

From our first day the children settled in really well and worked together in whole-class, group and paired activities. First class are super ‘Reading Buddies’ to their Senior Infant pals. We’ve sung our Jolly Phonics songs, written on our whiteboards and copies, played in the Halla, listened to super stories and drew fantastic creatures like the ‘Squidgeree’ and the ‘Turtle who flew South’.

Our artwork is brightening the hallways with our ‘Kandinsky’s Fingerprint Forest’ and ‘Everyone Fits In’ jigsaw.  We were 'Number and Alphabet Detectives', and had lots of pirate adventures, creating our own treasure maps. Cubes, camels and number lines are back out from the shelves and put to good use with sums and puzzles and even the laptops have been rolled in. Maths and English programmes have begun.

Bhí an spórt againn ag foghlaim na dathanna agus ag déanamh dánta. We imagined we were on a Space Training Programme and coloured rockets ready to lift off into Space.

What a busy September!
