Spraoi san Halla

9th Oct 2020

Tá Seomra a Dó ag baint an úsáid as an halla le déanaí. We were really enjoying the wonderful facility of space in the halla of late for so many subjects. In P.E we have been engaging with ball games and in improving our fine and gross motor skills with many mini games of skill and speed alone and in our pods.

When studying about the swallow and its amazing migration to South America, we made a 'map' through Europe, across the Straight of Gibraltar, across the Sahara Desert and Congo, ending in South Africa where the fig trees grow. Our 'swallows' followed the path while navigating various weather patterns from sunshine and rain to sand storms and thunder storms. Thankfully they all arrived safe and well to spend the winter in a warm climate and feed on fruit flies.

Most recently when learning about feelings and emotions, we had a fun lesson exploring 'Musical Moods' where we moved to the music and conveyed the emotions expressed and experienced in the music.

We even trained as NASA Astronauts l as we launched into space and repaired a section of the International Space Station while doing a space walk. Who knew so many wonderful adventures could take place in the halla in Scoil Mhuire!
