Scoil Mhuire KNS witnessed great drama on June 8th and 9th as their U11 Hurling, U13 Camogie and U13 Hurling teams sought victory in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol finals held in Semple Stadium, Thurles.
First up was the U11 Hurling final on Monday afternoon in which the boys faced Mullinahone NS. After a thrilling battle, Mullinahone emerged victorious by a slender margin.
Next up was the U13 Camogie final and again Knockavilla NS were pitted against Mullinahone NS. Despite a spirited performance, Mullinahone proved too strong on the day.
We are very proud of both panels who gave it their best and fought valiantly til the final whistle. Even getting to represent their school on County final day in Semple Stadium is an achievement in itself. Well done to all involved and congrats to Mullinahone NS.
On Tuesday morning, it was the U13 boys' turn as they took on Clerihan NS in the U13 decider. Arriving at Semple Stadium, bright and early, spirits were high in anticipation of a great contest.
Knockavilla were first out of the traps and set up a healthy half time lead. However Clerihan NS opened the second half brightly and played their part in what was a keenly contested final. The full-time whistle was met with great scenes of celebration as our U13 boys claimed victory. Congrats to all involved.
