Visit from members of the Intermediate Camoige team and management

28th Nov 2021

Despite the cold and wind, our pupils and staff were in warm spirits last Friday as we welcomed some of our past pupils who were members of the victorious Intermediate camoige team who won the County final recently.  Captain Beth Ryan was joined by team mates Sheena Ryan, Ellen Browne, Sinéad Furlong and Niamh Slattery, who received a very special introduction from her son Caelan, one of our Junior Infant pupils. Alan Horgan, team manager, spoke to the pupils and gave some great advice on training and participation, and 'sticking with it' and hoped that they would be winning County Finals one day too. Beth Ryan addressed the pupils and encouraged them to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, pursuing whatever sports and activities they enjoy.  Our SNA, Joanne, was also involved with the management and the pupils and staff are very proud of this connection with the team.

We also took the opportunity to celebrate the County Final win of the U13 camoige team. Many of our past pupils are members of this team and we are particularly proud that some of our current pupils also play with the U13 team.  5th Class student, Jaime Alley, brought their trophy and joined our special guests for the visit.

It is always an honour for a school to celebrate the success of past pupils and we thank the team members and their manager for taking the time to visit us with their trophy and encouraging and supporting our pupils.
